There is a lot of business knowledge for small business owners out there. But if you’ve ever felt like you were close to figuring it out, close to getting the information that would actually shift something and then watched the goalposts move again, this is for you.
You’re not imagining it. And you’re not behind.
The knowledge exists. It’s out there, it works, and people are making real money with it. But it tends to live behind price tags that most business owners can’t reach, especially in the early years, when they need it most.
The Pattern I Kept Seeing (And Living)
There was a mentor I wanted to work with for years. I watched her content. I trusted her approach. I saved up to get into the room and every time I got close, the price went up.
It wasn’t personal. It’s just how business knowledge tends to work.
The people who figure out how a business actually runs, the structure, the systems, the backbone, they package that knowledge and sell it at a premium. And that’s fair. But what it means in practice is that the business owners who are just starting out, or who are a year or two in and know something isn’t working, often can’t access the information that would change things.
So what do they do? They piece it together. They buy the affordable courses. They try to reverse-engineer the free content. They make mistakes that cost them time and money, not because they aren’t smart or capable, but because nobody just said it plainly.
“The knowledge isn’t complicated. It’s just kept behind a price tag most people can’t reach.”
What ‘Business Structure’ Actually Means
There is a backbone to every business that works. It’s not glamorous. It doesn’t always make good Instagram content. But it’s the difference between a business that makes money consistently and one that only makes money when the owner is actively pushing it forward.
That backbone includes things like:
- A customer journey that guides people from curious to buying, without you manually moving each person along
- An email list that warms your audience and creates sales, even on the days you’re not posting
- Offers that are structured so the path from freebie to paid feels natural, not pushy
- Systems that mean if you step away for a week, the business keeps functioning
Most of this doesn’t require expensive software or a big team. It requires understanding how the pieces fit together and then putting them in place.
That’s what tends to be gatekept. Not the tools. The strategic thinking behind why those tools are set up the way they are.
The Real Cost of Not Having This
I want to be honest about what happens when this structure isn’t in place, because I see it all the time and it looks different from the outside than it feels on the inside.
From the outside, the business can look like it’s doing well. Active on social media. Generating some revenue. Busy.
But underneath? The revenue is inconsistent. It peaks when the owner is in a productive phase and dips when life intervenes. Sales depend on mood and visibility. There’s no reliable way to predict what’s coming in next month.
And the problem isn’t effort. Most of the business owners I work with are not lazy. They’re working incredibly hard. The problem is that hard work without structure just creates a busier treadmill — not a more stable business.
If your business only makes money when you’re working, the structure isn’t strong enough yet.
Five Ways Money Can Quietly Appear in Your Business
One of the things I talk about a lot is how strong businesses make money in ways that don’t require the owner to be online every single day. Not because they’ve done something clever or complicated, but because they’ve built properly.
I wrote a free guide about exactly this. It walks through five specific things that quietly protect revenue in the background and invites you to check honestly which of these you currently have in place.
It’s called How My Business Makes Money Every Day.

And If You Want Someone to Look at Your Whole Structure?
The free guide gives you the framework. But sometimes what you actually need is someone to go through your specific business and tell you, clearly, in plain language, what’s working, what’s fragile, and what to fix first.
That’s what The Backbone Audit does.
I go through your customer journey as a real potential client. Your freebie. Your emails. Your sales page. Your offer flow. I spend time in your world and record a personalised Loom video walking you through exactly what I found — and a written Priority Actions List so you know precisely what to do next.
It’s £97 and delivered within 14 days. Not a template. Not a checklist. A focused, personal review of your specific business.
If you’ve been building your business and something still doesn’t feel fully connected — this is what gives you the clear picture.

The Goal Post Doesn’t Have to Keep Moving
I built this brand because I spent years trying to get into rooms that kept moving further away. And in the process of figuring it out the slow way, I learned it anyway.
I don’t think that has to be the experience for every business owner who comes after me.
The knowledge isn’t complicated. The structure isn’t out of reach. And you don’t have to earn your way to the information.
It’s already here.
