There’s this weird idea floating around that offering a freebie in exchange for an email is manipulative. Unethical, even.

But here’s the truth: a lead magnet is just a transaction.
No different to getting a free sample at the beauty counter or a free recipe from your fave food blogger.

The problem isn’t lead magnets.
It’s the ones that overpromise, underdeliver, and feel like a glorified sales pitch wrapped in a Canva template.

When done right?
A lead magnet builds trust, shows off your value, and opens the door to deeper connection.

It’s not bribery.
It’s strategy.
And it’s time we stopped pretending otherwise.

I’ve come to the conclusion that, as a global community, we need to finally decide:

Does the week start on a Sunday…
…or a Monday?

Because I’m tired of flipping between calendars like I’m in some kind of scheduling multiverse.

Print planner? Starts on Monday.
Meta Business Suite Scheduler? Starts on Sunday
Google Calendar? You can change the settings for it to start on a Saturday (Don't even get me started!)
My brain? Doesn’t even know what day it is anymore.

Seriously. How are we supposed to plan world domination (or even just our to-do list) when the calendar keeps gaslighting us?

Let’s vote.

Team Sunday or Team Monday?

(And yes, if you're one of those people who starts the week on a Saturday like the google calendar we need to talk.)

I know how exciting it is when you launch a new Fa

I know how exciting it is when you launch a new Facebook group. You’ve got big plans, great content coming, and you want to grow fast.

So you hit that tempting “Invite All Friends” button…

But just because someone is your Facebook friend doesn’t mean they’re the right fit for your group.

And mass-inviting everyone might actually do more harm than good.

Let me explain.

Yesterday, I got invited to the same group three times. I wasn’t interested the first time… and I definitely wasn’t more interested the third. In fact, it made me feel like a number, not a person.

Audience growth isn’t about numbers. It’s about connection.

If you want a thriving, engaged community, here’s what I recommend instead:

✅ Be intentional. Share the link with people you know would benefit from the space you're creating and give them the option to join. Don't just invite them.
✅ Create curiosity. Share what your group is about in your content. If people feel drawn to it, they’ll join because they want to.
✅ Use opt-ins or lead magnets to bring the right people in with value upfront and add a link to the Facebook Group on the thank you page and in the welcome email.
✅ Nurture, don’t pressure. You want your group full of people who are excited to be there. Not just filling space and inflating your numbers.

It might be a slower burn, but the payoff is so much better. Because a group of 100 people who care is far more powerful than 1,000 who never engage.

If you’re serious about building a strong community do it with intention.

(Of course - this is if the little Facebook glitch doesn't invite all your followers when you set up the group - make sure you turn that off!!)
