How much does a funnel cost? There isn’t one number, and anyone who gives you one without asking a single question about your business is guessing. But there is a sensible way to think about what you’re actually paying for.

Why the range is so wide

A funnel build can mean a lot of different things. It could be a single sales page bolted onto a system you already have. It could be a freebie funnel: a lead magnet that leads to a small tripwire micro-offer. Or it could be the full sequence: opt-in, a nurture sequence leading someone into your main sales page, checkout, and an abandoned cart sequence catching anyone who didn’t buy the first time. Those are entirely different amounts of work, and the price should reflect that.

Anyone quoting a flat number before understanding what you actually need is either underpricing themselves into a scope-creep nightmare, or padding a number that has nothing to do with your specific build.

What actually drives the cost

  • How much already exists. A funnel built on top of platforms and assets you already have costs less than one built from a blank slate.
  • How many pieces are involved. A lead magnet funnel with no sales page is a smaller build than a full funnel with checkout automations and an abandoned cart sequence.
  • How much content you’re supplying versus asking someone to write for you. Copy and content take real time, and that time gets priced whether it’s obvious or not.
  • Whether it’s a fixed, productised build or something genuinely bespoke. Bespoke, multi-platform work is priced differently to a defined, scoped package.

The question worth asking instead

Rather than “how much does a funnel cost,” a more useful question is “what should be included in the funnel I actually need.” Once that’s scoped properly, the price follows from the work, not the other way round.

A written proposal that states exactly what’s included, and what isn’t, protects you from scope creep just as much as it protects whoever’s building it. If a quote doesn’t come with that, that’s the thing to ask for before agreeing to anything.

What to do before you ask for a quote

  • Get clear on what you already have (platform, copy, branding, existing pages) versus what needs building from scratch.
  • Decide whether you’re looking for a single main offer funnel or something more layered, like a launch sequence with multiple touchpoints.
  • Ask for a written scope before a number, so the price you’re given actually maps to the build you’re getting.
